Real ESL Video Lesson 3 – Using the Simple Present

Here’s a video I made about using the simple present to describe the plot of a novel or movie. So, if you are reading a book, when someone asks you what it’s about, you will know how to answer.

Vocabulary:

What’s it about? – What is the plot?
She’s a tomboy – She acts like a boy.
They do it. – They have sex.
She decides to give the baby up for adoption. – She decides not to keep the baby, but to give it to another person to raise.
He’s not so keen. – He’s not as excited about it. He doesn’t really want to do it.
He gets the wrong idea. – He thinks the wrong thing. He thinks she is interested in him romantically, even though she likes him as a friend only.
